Industrial Designer (Furniture specialist) and Design Manager. 1995 Achieved Industrial Designer degree achieved at EASD of Valencia (Spain). 1996 Master in Furniture Industry technologies at AIDIMA (Technological Institute for Furniture and Wood of Valencia, Spain). 1997, Master in Industrial Design, “Design Direction”, “Furniture Design” and “Visual Trend” at the Domus Academy of Milan (Italy). He obtained first prize in the contest “old tools new tools” for Samsung (Korea), and also received a special mention in the Driade´s “Home Ceramic Objects” contest in Milan.
Sergio Perez has worked with several Spanish furniture design studios as well as with the Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) of Valencia. Since 1999 he has been working as a freelance designer for Spanish and International companies of the habitat sector.
In 2001 Sergio created “studio perezfortea”, a Studio dedicated to product design, involved, from the very moment of conception or idea of the object to the production process, as well as the artistic communication management of such products, collaborating mainly with engineers, photographers, graphic designers and architects. From 2010 collaborates as freelance with Chinese companies from his office in Valencia (Spain). 2016 Start to work as International Expert in Furniture Design for community projects with the EU. He has collaborated with companies in: Spain, Italy, Turkey, China, Japan and Korea.
His interest in innovating has led him to use the best technology to develop new products as well as to observe and follow a number of international fairs with the purpose of being well informed of the latest trends. Furniture Fairs in Paris (France), in Cologne (Germany), Milan and Verona in Italy, Stockholm (Sweden), Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Shanghai in China, New York and High Point in USA, Valencia, Madrid, Zaragoza, Yecla in Spain. Maison & Objet (Paris), Ambiente (Frankfurt) and Interzum in Germany, 100% design London (UK) and Cersaie (Bologna (Italy)).
